Burkina Faso
Dear FDM family members all around the world,
Three major events in the life of the youngest FDM association in 2011:
- FDM Module 1 and Module 2 seminars in January
- 5th FDM World Congress in August in Vienna
- Official recognition of the AFDMS (African Fascial Distortion Model Society) by the government of Burkina Faso in November
These steps in our long journey will lead us to do more in 2012 in order to fulfill our primary goal: bringing FDM into Africa. In early 2012 some of you will be with us during the Module 3 FDM Seminar in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Two new West African countries will join us for this program: Mali and Cote d`Ivoire. A very important aspect of this seminar is the practical part which will take place in various places of Burkina with practitioners from Europe and USA. The challenges are many but we must dream about the best FDM in Africa. We have plans for seminars in Benin, in Mali and Cameroun (Central Africa).
THE BOARD OF AFDMS WISHES YOU HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012 WITH MANY DISTORTIONS TO FIX AND WHY NOT TO DISCOVER.

DIALLO Harouna, President
Dr. Harouna “Ezechias” Diallo, Physiotherapy, of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, West Africa is the President of the African FDM Society. Dr. Diallo was introduced to the FDM by then AFDMA President Byron Perkins, DO during a medical missions trip in February 2008. Working together at Clinique Medico-Chirugical with Dr.Ouedraogo lssa, he demonstrated a quickness and willingness to learn this new modality. Upon returning in 2009, Dr. Diallo was already successfully using the FDM after only a few days of hands-on training the previous year. He traveled to the United States, and spent 1 month working together with Dr. Perkins at Cornerstone Clinic in Anchorage Alaska. While there he attended his first FDM Module 1 Seminar in San Diego, California, with instructor Georg Harrer, MD of the EFDMA. During that visit, he asked to have the FDM Seminar presented in Burkina Faso, for the benefit of his African colleagues. Dr. Harrer and Dr. Perkins presented FDM Module 1 Seminar in January, 2010. That Summer, Dr. Diallo returned to Anchorage, Alaska, and participated in another FDM Module 1 Seminar with Dr. Perkins. A Module 2 Seminar was completed with Drs. Harrer and Perkins in Burkina Faso in January 2011, and the African FDM Society was formally recognized by the Government of Burkina Faso later that Fall. In August, Dr. Diallo, his benefactor, Dr. Issa Ouedraogo, MD, and 2 other AFDMS members traveled to Vienna, Austria for the 5th International FDM World Congress. A Module 3 course is being conducted in January, 2012, and the FDM continues to expand into neighboring countries in West Africa. Every Journey Begins With the First Step. Foofo!
