Ken Nakasone, PT, PhD, ATC, CSCS was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He completed two master’s degrees, the first in athletic training from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and the second in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, Florida.
Ken discovered the Fascial Distortion Model by reading Dr. Capistrant’s book, Why Does It Hurt? The Fascial Distortion Model: A new paradigm for pain relief and restored movement. Fascinated with Dr. Typaldos’ identification and treatment of the six distortions, Ken dedicated himself to training in the Model with the AFDMA, FAA, and EFDMA. Since completing his International Certificate in 2017, he has been helping his communities with pain relief and movement restoration, and introducing and assisting with teaching of the Model to his colleagues near and far.
Ken owns and operates an outpatient sports physical therapy private practice. He is also the director of strength and conditioning at Maryknoll School. Ken supercharged his clinical practice by integrating all other models and systems with the FDM. He is interested in advancing the FDM through research and clinical outcomes.
